A Best Buy Nintendo Switch restock has arrived — if you’re looking to get your hands on Nintendo’s hybrid handheld console, now is the best time to buy it before the Nintendo Switch shortage potentially gets bad again.
Here’s a quick recap: back in February 2020, the pandemic we’re still dealing with was just picking up. As a result, there was a pretty big spike in sales for the Nintendo Switch. As retail locations were shut down or otherwise restricted, gamers turned to online retailers. One of the biggest is undeniably Amazon, and that’s where we’ve seen some of the worst price-gouging on Nintendo’s mainline console — it’s been priced as high as $600 from third-party sellers, more than double its retail price. eBay was another popular outlet that also had inflated Nintendo Switch prices.

Thankfully, we’re going to see a bit of a relief in the shortage with this Best Buy Nintendo Switch restock. There are, as always, some caveats.
Firstly, if you’re hoping to score that sweet Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch, you’re out of luck. Demand for that custom console is very high and Best Buy has not restocked that particular model. Strangely, they haven’t restocked the grey Joy-Con controller option, either — only the Neon Red and Neon Blue Joy-Con option is available for purchase.
Secondly, you won’t be able to order the console from your home. While it’s listed as available for purchase on the website, this Best Buy Nintendo Switch restock will not allow you to make the purchase online. If you really want one, you’re going to have to phone up your local store to see if they have any consoles, nevermind whether or not they’re even open.
It’s not an ideal situation, but this Best Buy Nintendo Switch restock is probably your best chance to get one anytime soon — at least if you don’t want to spend six hundred bucks.
