In practical terms, the AMD Ryzen 5900X provides FPS boosts ranging from 5–50% on games using a “High Quality” graphics present at 1080p resolution when compared against the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT. The open-world Battle Royale game PUBG sees boosts of 33% and older games like CS:GO and League of Legends have 46% and 50% higher framerates, respectively. Not all titles will see a significant increase, however; Battlefield 5 only manages a 5% increase in framerate with the new processor.

Radeon RX 6000 will be AMD’s ‘most powerful gaming GPU we have ever built’

Early specs for AMD’s next graphics card leaked nearly two years ago; shortly thereafter, AMD boasted that its new line of graphics cards could compete with Nvidia’s high-end GPUs. Dr. Su closed out today’s AMD Ryzen 5900 X presentation by teasing the Radeon RX 6000, the flagship GPU in its new line of graphics cards.

Promising “tremendous 4K performance against the board,” Dr. Su highlighted some key benchmarks for AMD’s upcoming GPU. The Radeon RX 6000 can hit 61 FPS in Borderlands 3, 73 FPS in Gears 5, and 88 FPS in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at 4K resolution and Ultra Quality in each of these games. It remains to be seen how these benchmarks will compare when facing the Nvidia 30 series specs.

More information on the AMD Radeon RX 6000 will be revealed at a subsequent presentation on October 28, 2020. The AMD Ryzen 5000 series will be available for purchase starting on November 5, 2020.
