Star Wars Visions trailer teases Boba Fett’s return

The latest trailer for Star Wars Visions is here, teasing new possibilities for the galaxy far, far away. The nine-episode anthology contains separate stories from some of the world’s most revered anime producers. It’ll contain new characters, scenarios, and perspectives on the saga. The new trailer highlights plenty of these, with new adversaries and heroes to root for. There are also nods to the existing lore, and teases of some returning characters. Perhaps the most exciting is the reveal of Boba Fett. However, the Kaminoan bounty hunter looks very different.

Yes, Boba Fett appears in this trailer for just a few seconds, but nothing like we’ve seen him before. In fact, he appears twice, which suggests he might appear in two of the nine episodes. Our first glimpse is of him dodging blaster fire. The second is Fett using his jet boosters to chase after an undisclosed hero. A new article from the official Star Wars website also confirms that he’ll be voiced by Temuera Morrison, who plays Fett in the prequel trilogy, The Mandalorian, and the upcoming Book of Boba Fett show.

At this stage, it’s not clear whether this is from the same episode. However, it’s concrete confirmation that Boba Fett will appear in Star Wars Visions. His armor is the classic green and yellow that we saw in his first appearance in The Empire Strikes Back, making it likely that his episodes will take place during the original trilogy. Since his character is swallowed by the Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi, and he doesn’t re-emerge until The Mandalorian, it seems likely that it’ll explore Fett’s career after he catches Han Solo on Cloud City.

Based on the trailer, we can see Boba Fett fighting a flamethrower-wielding creature in one scene – though we don’t know who this character is, or where it takes place. We next see him chasing after an adversary with his cape blowing through the wind, seemingly through a service tunnel of some kind. We’ll have to wait and see what these scenes involve, but it’s great to know that the galaxy’s favorite bounty hunter will be back.

In other news, early reactions to Marvel’s Shang-Chi are out, and they’re overwhelmingly positive. We’ve also got details on the latest Fortnite update, which dropped today.
