GTA Trilogy pulled from PC as Rockstar Launcher remains offline

The GTA Trilogy PC version has been pulled from sale amidst problems with the Rockstar Games Launcher, which has been offline for more than 12 hours and has left many people unable to play the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition PC version. With the Rockstar launcher down for such a long time, along with a lot of complaints about optimization and bugs, Rockstar Games has decided to pull the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy PC version completely.

GTA Trilogy PC removed with Rockstar Games Launcher offline

GTA Trilogy Rockstar Launcher Down

Due to the Rockstar Games Launcher being offline for over half a day, Rockstar has chosen to pull the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition from sale on PC altogether. It can no longer be found on Rockstar’s own games store, where it was previously listed alongside the Xbox Series X, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch versions — and this is the only way to buy the GTA Trilogy on PC, given that it’s not available on Steam or any other gaming clients.

Rockstar currently has not announced the fact that the trilogy has been removed for sale on PC, only that it is continuing to work “on restoring services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles.” Naturally, a lot of fans on PC are deeply frustrated by all of this. Many were unhappy with the choice to only release the PC version on Rockstar’s own launcher rather than Steam or Epic, and those fears seem to have been justified — especially added to the reports about poor performance on PC and the various bugs players are encountering.

Hopefully the Rockstar launcher will be up and running soon, but it is a worrying sign that Rockstar has delisted GTA Trilogy from PC on its store. The last big game to get that treatment was Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 on the PlayStation Store and that didn’t come back for months. Don’t expect to see GTA Trilogy on Game Pass anytime soon, either.
