Min Min Amiibo

Min Min Super Smash Bros Amiibo Arrives in April but Steve and Alex Amiibos are Delayed

Splatoon character Min Min will become the latest Super Smash Bros. amiibo to be released when it hits retailers in April. Unfortunately while announcing the Min Min amiibo release date, Nintendo also confirmed the Super Smash Bros. amiibos based on Minecraft characters Steve and Alex will be delayed beyond spring 2022.

When will the Min Min Super Smash Bros. amiibo be released?

The Min Min Super Smash Bros. amiibo will be released on April 29 and will be the first character from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Min Min will also be the first Super Smash Bros. amiibo to be released for over a year since Banjo & Kazooie, Terry and Byleth hit retailers in March 2021, although there has been new Metroid Dread and Monster Hunter amiibos released in between.

Min Min will be the only character to be released as part of Wave 20 now that the Steve and Alex amiibos have been delayed. The amiibos depicting the Minecraft characters were supposed to be released this spring but will now be released later on in 2022 “due to a logistics and production delay”. Steve and Alex will now make up Wave 21.

Several of the other characters from Fighters Pass Vol. 2 – Sephiroth, Pyra, Mythra, and Kazuya – will also be getting amiibos, although there is no indication as to when these will be released or whether they will all be part of the same wave. The final character in the Fighters Pass, Sora, is yet to get his own amiibo but fans are desperately hoping he will get one soon.

In other news, the Bethesda.net launcher will retire in May. Players will be able to transfer their games, game saves and wallet funds to Steam beginning in April. Elsewhere, the latest Steam Next Fest event has begun and will offer hundreds of demos and livestreams for upcoming games until February 28.
