Both Battlefield 2042 and FIFA 22 have appeared with an EA Play banner on the Xbox Game Pass section of the Xbox store in several European countries, although the games cannot be downloaded just now. Their appearance has sparked rumors that the two games may be properly added to EA Play as early as next week.
When will FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 be added to EA Play?
Neither EA nor Xbox have announced a release date for the games, but the general consensus amongst the rumors is that the two games will join EA Play on May 5. As noticed by Twitter user Idlesloth (thanks ResetEra), both games show as currently available on the Xbox Store but players are prevented from downloading them. I was redirected to purchase an EA Play subscription despite being an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member. When both games do join EA Play, they won’t just be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S; the two games will be available on all platforms that support EA Play, including PS5, PS4, and PC.
EA has not made an announcement about the games due to join EA Play in May, nor has Microsoft announced the upcoming games for Xbox Game Pass. However, we do know of plenty of titles that will be launching onto Xbox Game Pass throughout the first half of May 2022, including Loot River on May 3, Citizen Sleeper and Trek to Yomi on May 5, and This War of Mine: Final Cut and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising on May 10. Floppy Knights will follow them on May 24.
In other news, Microsoft has announced the Xbox Games With Gold for next month, and they include Yoku’s Island Express and The Inner World – The Last Wind Monk. Elsewhere, the Pokemon x Irregular Choice apparel collaboration has introduced a range of items like footwear, bags, socks, and tights. Personally, I think they could have added more glitter.
