Assassins Creed Valhalla Forgotten Saga

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Forgotten Saga Free DLC Announced But No New Game

Today’s Assassin’s Creed 15th Anniversary Event sparked hopes of an official reveal of a new game in the franchise, thought to be the much-rumored Assassin’s Creed Rift, a smaller stand-alone game featuring Basim Ibn Ishaq. Instead, we got a glimpse of more second-year post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including a new game mode called The Forgotten Saga.

Upcoming free content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Forgotten Saga is a rogue-lite-inspired game mode where Odin returns to Niflheim, the realm of the dead, to face many deadly creatures based on Norse mythology. Every death casts Odin back out where he will return with his newfound knowledge to try all over again. The free content will arrive this summer and more details are expected closer to its release date.

For now, players can enjoy a standalone version of Discovery Tour: Viking Age available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Stadia, Amazon Luna, and PC. Those who own Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be able to play the mode for free. The second year of post-launch content also included returning festivals like Ostara, Mastery Challenge Pack 2, and the Ravensthorpe armory update that have already been released. Assassin’s Creed Origins-inspired tattoos and naval packs will arrive later this week, while this fall there will be new Tombs to conclude the Tombs of the Fallen content. Finally, at the end of the year, the last episode of Eivor’s story will be added as free content too.

As part of the 15th-anniversary celebrations, Assassin’s Creed Origins will get a free weekend from June 16-20, a perfect time to try out the 60fps update that was released for Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5 on June 2. In September there will be another event to “unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed” which will hopefully include the announcement of the new game everybody was expecting to be included in today’s show.

In other news, a Jurassic World escape room has been unveiled as a new addition to Universal’s Great Movie Escape Attraction. Elsewhere, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s open beta may be appearing in August.
