New Thor: Love and Thunder Trailer Lands Ahead of Marvel Movie Release

A new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has dropped ahead of the Marvel movie’s July 8th release. With Chris Hemsworth’s Thor returning to the big screen in just a couple of weeks, hype for Marvel’s next major MCU entry is at an all-time high. But fans needn’t wait until Thor: Love and Thunder’s release to find out what the Norse god’s been getting up to since the epic events of Avengers: Endgame. Read on to discover what the new trailer reveals about the Mjolnir-wielding superhero’s next romp.

New Thor: Love and Thunder trailer leans into Marvel film’s lighter side

The months, weeks, and days leading up to Thor: Love and Thunder’s release have given fans plenty of intel on the upcoming film. Through full-length trailers, featurettes, and teasers, we’ve seen plenty of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, Christian Bale’s creepy Gorr the God Butcher and, of course, Thor himself, who’s trying to plan out his post-Avengers: Endgame future. The new trailer touches on all these things again, but is far more focused on showcasing the film’s lighter side, complete with plenty of comedic moments, one-liners, and lots of giant, screaming goats.

The 81-second clip is all about pumping fans up for the film. While Guns ‘N Roses’ Sweet Child ‘o Mine blasts in the background, we see Thor enthusiastically proclaim, “I’m putting together the greatest team ever.” From there, it’s pretty much a non-stop barrage of comedic banter, quippy lines, and amusing character interactions. Rocket’s reaction to those aforementioned goats is a highlight, as is Thor schooling Star-Lord on the many ways Asgardians shake hands. If you’re craving more Gorr or deep-diving story details, this trailer probably won’t do it for you. But if you’re in the mood for some funny, film-hyping, goat-packed fan-service, this final look at the Taiki Waititi-helmed flick more than delivers.

In other news, HBO has released the official poster for Game of Thrones’ prequel House of the Dragon and new Indiana Jones collectibles hit ahead of Indiana Jones 5 release.
