Thor Love and Thunder Trigger Warning

Fans Want a Thor: Love and Thunder Trigger Warning to Be Added Over Cancer Scenes

Thor: Love and Thunder features Dr. Jane Foster’s return to the franchise in her biggest role yet as The Mighty Thor, but some of her cancer scenes have fans calling for a trigger warning to be placed at the beginning of the movie. Be aware the following article contains spoilers if you haven’t been to see the movie yet.

Thor: Love and Thunder fans call for trigger warning on cancer scenes

Natalie Portman reprised her role as Dr. Jane Foster in the movie but her storyline wasn’t a happy one. In the movie, she is depicted as having stage four cancer and there are scenes where she is receiving treatment such as chemotherapy. Some fans are calling for a trigger warning to be posted at the start of Thor: Love and Thunder because these scenes could be potentially triggering for those who have either undergone the same process themselves or have family and friends going through difficult times.

Another fan added “If you’re planning to see Thor: Love and Thunder and are sensitive to cancer/cancer treatment, it is an extremely prevalent theme and plot driver in the movie. Prepare yourself and take care of yourself if you need to.” Meanwhile, a third fan called it “atrocious” that there was no trigger warning and “that we didn’t know going in“. However, some people appreciated the way the topic was treated in the movie:

The topic continues into one of the post credits scene where Jane Foster meets Idris Elba’s Heimdall and we witness her fate. Natalie Portman has said she would be happy to step back into the role in the future, but whether the character has a role in future Thor movies remains to be seen.

In other news, the Lofi Hip-Hop Girl stream ended on Youtube after more than 20,000 hours. Elsewhere, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series fans have launched a campaign to persuade Bandai Namco to fund a new instalment in the franchise.
