Destiny 2 Update 4.1.5

Destiny 2 Servers Down to Apply Update 4.1.5 for Solstice Day

The Destiny and Destiny 2 servers are currently down right now as Bungie applies update 4.1.5 ready for the Solstice Day 2022 event. This is causing many players to get the CAT error when trying to log into Destiny 2, which is the error code the game returns when players need to apply an update. Bungie’s current server status website claims the servers will be back up shortly.

When will the Destiny 2 servers be back up?

Destiny 2 Solstice

The Destiny and Destiny 2 servers are expected to be back online at 10 am PDT, although players may be placed into a login queue as they attempt to reconnect to the game. Maintenance should be completely finished by 11 am PDT. Both games started to undergo maintenance at 6 am PDT, meaning the servers will have been down for four hours in order to apply update 4.1.5.

The main reason for update 4.1.5. is to add the information the game needs for the summer Seasonal event, Solstice, which is due to begin today, July 19. The event will put summer festival-inspired decorations in the Tower, revamp the Solstice EAZ activity, and add a new armor-upgrading experience. There will also be a brand new event card that will make it easier for players to organize their objectives during the event.

Bungie is yet to release patch notes for update 4.1.5. in Destiny 2, but did explain that these features would be resolved:

  • Tooltips disappear when dismantling items from the Postmaster.
  • Defeating targets while Radiant with the Knock ’em Down aspect is not refunding melee energy when used with Caliban’s Hand.
  • The voice chat volume setting is absent on console platforms.

In other news, the Wii U and 3DS eShops have gotten a closure date while Fire Emblem Fates will be delisted a month earlier. Elsewhere, the Forza Horizon 5 Series 10 update has arrived today alongside the Hot Wheels expansion.
