Xbox Gamescom 2022 Livestream Announced, Lineup Includes Obsidian’s Pentiment

Microsoft has announced full details of its Xbox Gamescom 2022 livestream and lineup at its booth. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Xbox had skipped the convention in Cologne, Germany for the last three years. But it’s finally ready to make a comeback with plenty of stations on the show floor, featuring games like Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Starting on Thursday, August 25, Microsoft will begin streaming live from the Xbox Booth at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET / 2 AM CEST. The presentation will last six hours and consist of gameplay footage and developer interviews with Mojang Studios, Xbox Game Studios, and World’s Edge. The following is a list of games set to be showcased during the livestream (in alphabetical order):

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem
  • Age of Empires IV
  • Grounded
  • Gunfire Reborn
  • Lies of P
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Minecraft Legends
  • Pentiment
  • Planet of Lana
  • Sea of Thieves

In Hall 8, the Xbox Booth will hold 36 stations that will allow attendees to try some of the latest games from Xbox Game Studios and other titles that will be launching Day One on Xbox Game Pass. Many of these will be the same games listed above. That said, Minecraft Legends will not be shown at the booth, but Disney Dreamlight Valley, Inkulinati, Last Case of Benedict Fox, Lightyear Frontier, and You Suck at Parking will be available.

Select fans will also be able to attend a special Xbox FanFest event that will grant them access to the Xbox booth before it’s open to public ticket holders. The event will be held for three hours on Wednesday, August 24, from 8-11 PM CEST. If you want a chance to get into the Fanfest, you can register here by August 15 at the latest.

In other news, the latest Nintendo Direct for Splatoon 3 has revealed a full stages list, customization details, and the new hosts Deep Cut.
