Cult of the Lamb Steam

Cult of the Lamb Steam Launch Reaches Over 61K Concurrent Users

The Cult of the Lamb Steam launch has had a very impressive start, climbing over 61,000 concurrent users. With these numbers, publisher Devolver Digital and developer Massive Monster will likely be a huge success. With the exception of Fall Guys, Cult of the Lamb is looking like it will be one of the publisher’s best hits. Do we have, ahem, a cult classic on our hands? (I might be sacrificed for that joke…)

Cult of the Lamb Steam stats comparison

Cult of the Lamb Steam

According to SteamDB, Cult of the Lamb has reached an all-time peak of 61,780 players. At the time of this writing, it’s at 60,970 likely due to the time of day. To put this in perspective, a thread on Resetera has seemingly sorted the full roster of Steam games by their all-time peak of concurrent users. If correct, this would mean that Cult of the Lamb has surprisingly broken the top 200 in this stat, getting close to highest number of Steam concurrent users for games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Stray, and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Given that these are launch day numbers, we’ll likely see it fall steadily over the course of the next few weeks, but there’s always a chance that strong word of mouth might make it go even higher in the short term. But for now, the front page of SteamDB shows that Cult of the Lamb is within the top 10 for the most-played game today, hovering in the same ballpark as ARK: Survival Evolved, MultiVersus, and Football Manager 2022. The SteamDB page also notes that over 156,000 people were viewing the game on Twitch.

Our review for Cult of the Lamb by Mack Ashworth scored the indie game an impressive 9 out of 10. He remarks: “Cult of the Lamb takes a big risk with its unusual combo of genres but it pays off in spectacular fashion. The dungeon-crawling is addicting in the way that the best roguelikes are and the cult management is Animal Crossing gone evil with a T-rated spin that works wonders.”

In other news, some players for the Cult of the Lamb Switch version have experience input and framerate issues, and Epic Games has finally teased the Fortnite Dragon Ball crossover that’s been rumored for months.
