The Last of Us HBO series trailer teases Ellie and Joel’s epic journey
Though we have been given glimpses at footage from The Last of Us on HBO, this is the first time a fully-fledged trailer has been unveiled by the network. Working to emulate the immersive and terrifying atmosphere that has made the franchise one of the most critically-acclaimed of all time, HBO will be bringing the stunning and memorable narrative that worked its way into the hearts of millions around the globe straight to the small screen.
The trailer was initially teased just a couple of days ago (September 24, 2022) by The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann, who pointed out that TLOU Day was two days away. Co-creator and writer of the HBO show, Craig Mazin, responded with a GIF of Ellie. This led to fans speculating that they would be treated to their first full look at the show when TLOU Day rolled around. September 26 marks the day of the virus outbreak in the world of The Last of Us. It used to be celebrated as Outbreak Day, but following the very real COVID-19 pandemic, the moniker was changed to The Last of Us Day, or TLOU Day.
The Last of Us will premiere on HBO and HBO Max at some time in 2023.
