Twitch’s Hasan Says Streamers Won’t Play Hogwarts Legacy Due to ‘Bullying’

Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, also known as HasanAbi, has spoken out about the controversy surrounding Hogwarts Legacy. Many have voiced their concern about buying and playing the game due to author J. K. Rowling’s stance on the trans community, but others have insisted that should be free to play the new release, regardless of whether or not they agree with Rowling’s views.

Hasan, who is a left-wing political commentator, had previously talked about getting a bunch of different content creators together to play the game, raising money for charities in the process. This idea was quickly squashed, as he felt a huge backlash for even suggesting the move. Now, he has responded to a clip of one streamer getting upset after being attacked in their stream’s comments for playing Hogwarts Legacy.

Hasan predicted attack on streamers for playing Hogwarts Legacy

“The only reason why I’m not playing this game, and I know a bunch of other people are not playing this game, is because we know that it’s not worth it to get fucking bullied endlessly, and get called transphobic endlessly, when we have massive queer communities and audiences,” Hasan explained in a now-deleted clip from his Twitch channel.

“Everybody fucking knows how much leftist motherfuckers love to chirp on the internet. They’ve got no power, all they do is chirp, chirp, chirp, and that’s precisely why so many fucking people that would otherwise play it, maybe even raise money for charities or whatever, they’re not doing it.”

Having watched a clip of one streamer and his audibly-emotional girlfriend pausing their stream to gather their thoughts for a moment, after an onslaught of abuse in their stream’s chat section, Hasan added: “I knew that this was going to happen, that’s why I wanted to set it up ahead of time. I got fucking yelled at endlessly and relentlessly on my alt account. They were making it seem like I was already transphobic for even thinking about this, and now, look at that.”
