Developer Poncle has confirmed that the upcoming Vampire Survivors DLC will bring new characters, weapons, and more to the popular bullet hell game. Many fans had been expecting new content to make its way to the game following a leak earlier this month teasing a “Directer’s Cut” of the game.
The Vampire Survivors ‘Directer’s Cut’ will bring new content and features to the popular indie roguelike
As first reported by Eurogamer, rumors of a “Directer’s Cut” of Vampire Survivors have been confirmed by developer Poncle. Fans had been anticipating some sort of announcement after a screenshot of the intentionally misspelled Vampire Survivors Directer’s Cut start menu screen appeared online along with gameplay footage. Initially believed to be a leak, it has now been revealed that the information was intentionally released by Poncle to tease new content headed to the game.
Though the “Directer’s Cut” title apparently may not make it to the final release, the new features shown off in the clip are confirmed to be coming to the game in the future. A statement at the end of the most recent patch notes for Vampire Survivor states that “all the new content in that version is scheduled to be fully developed and released in future free updates.” The new Vampire Survivors DLC looks to be adding to the number of enemies in Vampire Survivors as well as delivering some new gameplay features when it releases.
With its fast-paced gameplay and decidedly old-school visual style Vampire Survivors quickly became a hit with many gamers following its release in late 2022. The roguelike’s surprising success has led to somewhat of a resurgence in the bullet hell genre, with recent indie games like Hall of Torment offering up their own take on the addictive formula.
