Nintendo Direct Round-up: Smash Bros, Crash Bandicoot Switch, and More

Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation revealed a multitude of new exciting titles, as well as some old ones that are either being remastered or ported from other consoles. Smash Bros, the Crash Bandicoot Switch trilogy, Mario Tennis Aces, Dark Souls Remastered and a whole lot more are going to be coming your way very soon. If you’re desperate to know more and watch the Nintendo Direct presentation for yourself then, by all means, watch the video below. Super Smash Bros Switch| TBA 2018

Arguably the announcement that got everyone bursting out of their seats and screaming with joy, Super Smash Bros has been on people’s minds ever since the Nintendo Switch was officially announced. Now it’s here the world is ready to party!  What’s more, you won’t have to wait long for it either. The game will be coming out this year. Cue more excited yelling!

Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy | July 10

Following Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy‘s release back on PS4 last year, Crash and the gang are now coming to the Nintendo Switch! Because what’s better than Crash on a handheld device you can take everywhere with you? That’s right: nothing.

 

Mario Tennis Aces | June 22

Though Mario Tennis Aces had already leaked, with this Nintendo Direct presentation we learned a whole lot more about what we had in store for us when the game comes out June 22nd.

New Dark Souls  Amiibo And Network Test Beta | May 25

Last time we saw anything about Dark Souls Remastered was when it was announced during a mini Nintendo Direct back in January. But praise the sun, because we now have even more information! Alongside the game itself, a Dark Souls Amiibo figure is on the way, along with a network test beta to occur sometime before the game’s launch on May 25th.

 

Okami HD Switch | Summer 2018

Okami HD is heading to Switch, though sadly only in digital. During the presentation, we learned that joy-cons and interactivity would be a key component involved, useful for when using the in-game feature, Celestial Brush.

Sushi Striker: The Way of the Sushido | June 8

Sushi Striker: The Way of the Sushido is a fast, action-packed game where your job is to match colored plates and types of sushi to chuck tall stacks of plates of sushi at your fierce enemies. It is set to be released on both 3DS and the Nintendo Switch with online multiplayer.

Undertale | TBA

Undertale Switch

Creator Toby Fox’s indie darling, Undertale, is heading to the Switch too. EventuallyUndertale won the hearts of many during its release on the PC in 2015 and since then it has been ported to the PS4 and the PS Vita. So it makes sense that this classic will be heading to the Switch too. We just don’t know when.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole | April 24

Another port that is now being released on the Nintendo Switch is South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Thankfully you’ll be able to purchase all of the DLC, either as a pack or individually.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes | TBA 2018

Everyone’s been eager for a No More Heroes sequel, so fans will be over the moon to hear that this sequel is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes will have seven different game type and a co-op multiplayer mode where you share joy-con controllers.

 

Octopath Traveler | July 13

Octopath Traveller

Square’s upcoming RPG, Octopath Traveler, revealed two more characters to join the colorful cast of characters we already know of. Meet Tressa the merchant and Alfyn the apothecary. It was also revealed during Nintendo Direct that there would be a special edition for the game, including a map, pop-up book, CD, and a replica coin based on in-game currency.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker | July 13

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is an adorable puzzle game and it’s finally coming to the Nintendo Switch! It does include a Super Mario Odyssey-themed level modeled after the game’s New Donk City location. There’s also the benefit of playing with a friend, each using a separate joy-con, one controlling the loveable Toad while the other attacks enemies by shooting turnips. A 3DS version will also be available.

 

Little Nightmares: Complete Edition | May 18

Bandai Namco’s well-received horror puzzle game is now on its way to Switch! Little Nightmares: Complete Edition will include all past DLC, as well as a special mask you can unlock by scanning in the Pac-Man Amiibo.

 

Splatoon 2 Ver. 3.0 and Octo Expansion| April 2018

Splatoon 2 is getting a new update in April! What’s to come is new gear, stages, playable Octolings and a whole lot more. But what’s more, a paid DLC expansion is also set to release this summer, including new single player levels for you all to enjoy!

 

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition | May 18

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition was announced in January to be coming to the Switch. However, now we have a definitive release date: May 18th. The original Wii U game, now coming to Switch, consists of all existing content released for the game. This includes the DLC maps, characters, and missions. Two-player local multiplayer is also supported, and you can play with a friend by each using a single joy-con.

 

ARMS US & Canada Online Open Tournament

ARMS players now have the opportunity to enter a tournament, starting now through to March 18th. The top eight players from these preliminary rounds will move onto an online final on March 31.

Detective Pikachu Release Date

When Detective Pikachu was first announced many were just annoyed that Danny Devito wasn’t involved, but as of now we’re just relieved that we have a release date.

WarioWare Gold | August 3

Similar to how Mario Party: The Top 100 works, WarioWare Gold is getting a similar collection for you to play. This bundle has up to 300 microgames for you to play, all in a single package. Titled WarioWare Gold, these are both new and old classic mini-games, each making use of the 3DS touchscreen, mic and more.

 

Dillon’s Dead Heat Breakers | May 24

In this Western game, Dillon’s Dead Heat Breakers, everything is possible. The series allows the titular character to team up with your Mii, who can join your team as gunners. A demo for the game will be available on May 10th.

 

Luigi’s Mansion 3DS Remake | TBA 2018

A remake of Luigi’s Mansion, the GameCube classic is being set to release for the 3DS sometime soon in the year.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey | TBA 2019

According to Nintendo Direct, a remake of the fan-favorite Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is coming next year in 2019. New features will include allowing you to switch between the brothers to platform inside Bowser and then control Bowser outside to explore the overworld. Sounds neat!
