FIFA 19, the latest game in EA’s phenomenally successful soccer series, is due out next week. As usual, there are a number of different editions of the game available. But what is the difference between the various FIFA 19 editions? Which is the best one to buy? Do any of them have an early access release? We’ve got all the information.
What Are the Different FIFA 19 Editions Available?
There are three FIFA 19 editions available to pre-order right now, although only two of them come with the ability to play the game early. They are the Standard Edition, Champions Edition, and Ultimate Edition. The first two are available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, however the Ultimate Edition isn’t available on Switch for some reason. Here is what you get if you pre-order them:
STANDARD EDITION
- Up to five Jumbo Premium Gold Packs (one per week for five weeks)
- Cristiano Ronaldo loan item for seven FIFA 19 Ultimate Team (FUT) matches
- Special Edition FUT kits designed by FIFA soundtrack artists
CHAMPIONS EDITION
- Up to 20 FIFA Ultimate Team Jumbo Premium Gold Packs (one per week for 20 weeks)
- Play from September 25 with three days early access
- UEFA Champions League Gold Player Pick (Choose one of five 80 to 83 rated gold players from qualified teams)
- Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. loan items for seven FUT matches
- Special Edition FUT kits designed by FIFA soundtrack artists
ULTIMATE EDITION (not available on Switch)
- Up to 40 FIFA Ultimate Team Jumbo Premium Gold Packs (two per week for 20 weeks)
- Play from September 25 with three days early access
- UEFA Champions League Gold Player Pick (Choose one of five 80 to 83 rated gold players from qualified teams)
- Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. loan players for seven FUT matches
- Special edition FUT kits designed by FIFA soundtrack artists
What is the FIFA 19 Release Date?
FIFA 19‘s official release is Friday, September 28. If you pre-order the Champions or Ultimate editions of the game you can play from September 25, however if you’re subscribed to EA or Origin Access you can play the game a whopping eight days early on September 20.
