We may be in 2019 but we really just want to go back to Ancient Greece. Thank Zeus, then, for the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update. Not only does it bring us a tantalizing glimpse of new DLC just over the horizon, but there’s an utterly transformative change when it comes to leveling up, as level scaling is now active. Also included in the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update patch notes is a fantastic new upgrade system, an expansion of the Mercenary system and the usual bug fixes and balances. Again, we’ll take you through the key highlights and pop the full patch notes at the very end for your perusal.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update – Level scaling
Remember how frustrating it was being locked out of certain regions because of level gates in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Well, now Kassandra and Alexios can move a little freer thanks to the level scaling update. You’ll have the ability to select the default level scaling, level gates and all, but also include “Heavy” (everyone is set to your current level), “Medium,” (enemies can be up to two levels lower than you), and “Light” where foes can be up to four levels below you.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update – Hephaistos’ workshop
Head on over to Hephaistos’ workshop for all of your go-to engraving needs. It’s now essentially a one-stop shop situated in Myson Cave in Malis. You can even upgrade engravings to Tier 6 and Tier 7 to make sure you have the best possible weapons around.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update – Legacy of the First Blade episode 2
While not available until January 15, this latest 1.12 update has put Shadow Heritage, the second episode for Legacy of the First Blade, into the game. You’ve only got five days to wait, so be patient!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update – Mercenary tiers
Adding to the general theme of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.12 update firmly being more content for endgame players, there are two new Mercenary tiers for players looking to hunt down some of the most fearsome foes this side of Athens. S1 and S2 can be unlocked after completing Tier 1.
