The opening to Resident Evil 3 remake has the player controlling Jill from a first-person perspective. It’s pretty jarring, especially with the narrow field-of-view, but it’s also reminiscent of the point-of-view used in Resident Evil 7. RE7 was a great success, with the first-person view working well to enhance the immersion, so perhaps first-person could make the RE3 remake a better game? Here’s what you need to know about a Resident Evil 3 remake first-person mode.

Unfortunately, for those who wanted to play through the eyes of Jill and Carlos, it’s not currently possible to play Resident Evil 3 remake in first-person mode.

With that said, the game is now out on PC, where modders are always pushing the boundaries on what is possible in video games. Perhaps a Resident Evil 3 remake first-person mod will be created at some point down the line, allowing PC users to ditch the over-the-shoulder camera and see through the eyes of the main characters.
For now, though, the only way to experience first-person in Resident Evil 3 remake is at the very start of the game. It’s only a very brief moment, as Jill stumbles around in a nightmare scenario. Upon waking up, the nightmare is over, along with that first-person view.
If you want to experience a Resident Evil game in first-person, then Resident Evil 7 is a must-play. It even supports VR, giving those brave enough to play in virtual reality an even more immersive time. Maybe Resident Evil 8 will also be in first-person, but we’ll have to wait to hear more official information about that!
