The Resident Evil Village demo PC release date is going to be one hotly anticipated day as the surprise Maiden teaser dropped on PS5 and was well-received for its atmosphere, many mysteries, and very tall antagonist. But the question is what that date is going to be as Sony seems to have made some deals to get some exclusive Resident Evil 8 content. When is the RE8 demo coming to PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PS4?
Resident Evil Village PC and Steam demo release date
The Resident Evil 8 PC demo is coming to the platformer via Steam (and possibly other launchers, too) sometime in spring 2021. Capcom did not give a specific date for this next demo. However, it is also worth noting that this demo sounds like it will be a separate demo. Producer Pete Fabiano stated that a “separate, new demo” will be come this spring.
“Separate” and “new” pretty explicitly mean something else entirely so it isn’t clear if Maiden will ever hit the PC. It might even just be an updated version of Maiden as the RE7 demo was updated and renamed a few times. And for reference, that RE7 demo hit PS4 in June 2016 and did not come to PC until December 2016 so even if Maiden did make its way to the platform, it would take some time.
Resident Evil Village Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S demo release date
The Resident Evil 8 Xbox demo is also coming in spring 2021. Capcom did not provide a specific date for this demo either. This “separate, new demo” hitting Xbox platforms is the same demo coming to the PC, meaning it is also unclear if Maiden will ever come to the Xbox One or Xbox Series X. Again, it could be an updated version of Maiden that emulates how RE7‘s demo evolved over time.
The generational divide is also interesting as Sony did not release a RE8 demo for PS4, despite obviously having some sort of deal with Capcom. This means Maiden, if it does come to Xbox, might only come to the newer systems. It’s a little unclear though. And, just for reference, the Xbox demo for RE7 came out in late January 2017, one month after the PC release and seven months after the PS4 version.

The Resident Evil 8 PS4 demo will also come out in spring 2021. Capcom did not reveal a more specific date for this version and was also under the “separate, new demo” banner that heavily implies that Maiden might not make its way to the PS4. It sounds like it would be something else entirely or just an updated version of Maiden that contains new content and maybe even a new name.
But this is quite an odd scenario, seeing as though Sony and Capcom made a deal but only focused on the PS5 for the Maiden demo (which is in the above screen shot). It’s peculiar that the PS4 wasn’t included in that, given how it is also a Sony platform. Players who pre-order any of the game’s editions on PS4 or PS5 also get a mini-soundtrack, showing that Sony did make some deals that included both of its systems.
