When it first appears in Cult of the Lamb, the Diseased Heart item may be seen as a potentially terrible burden for the lamb to bear. However, names can be deceiving. Here’s the need-to-know info about the Cult of the Lamb Diseased Heart, including what it does and whether it’s worth getting when given the choice.
What does the Diseased Heart do in Cult of the Lamb?
The Diseased Heart is a powerful item that takes revenge on all on-screen enemies when the lamb takes a hit.
As soon as the lamb takes damage, the Diseased Heart’s effect kicks in and all on-screen enemies take damage. This can often finish off weak or damaged foes.
Once the Diseased Heart effect has been triggered, the item will be discarded and can no longer be used.
Is the Diseased Heart worth getting in Cult of the Lamb?
The Diseased Heart is worth getting in Cult of the Lamb. There are no downsides to getting it, despite what the name may seem to imply.
Being able to deal some quick free damage to all enemies in an area can come in extremely handy during stages where there are many weaker enemies on-screen all at the same time.
The Diseased Heart becomes less useful during later stages of the game, however, and might not scale very well with the Hard and Very Hard difficulties where enemies have more health.
For those on Easy mode, the Diseased Heart is even more devastating and can quickly save a run by wiping out everything on-screen. Try to save it for the tougher rooms, if you can.
