FIFA 18 FUT Ratings Refresh Players Revealed

The first batch of FIFA 18 FUT Ratings Refresh Players has been unveiled by EA, focusing on the Premier League.

As is tradition for the soccer game, the passing of the January transfer window sees certain players receive upgrades courtesy of their real-life counterparts performances. Some positions, too, have been altered to reflect the change for their clubs. These changes will only affect the basic versions of their FUT cards.

The full list of players (and their previous ratings) can be found on the EA site. The headline acts are as follows:

Goalkeepers:

David De Gea (Manchester United) 90 > 91

Ederson (Manchester City) 83 > 84

Defenders:

Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City) 83 > 85

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea) 85 > 86

Kyle Walker (Manchester City) 83 > 84

Midfielders:

N’Golo Kante (Chelsea) 87 > 88

Paul Pogba (Manchester United) 87 > 88

Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur) 87 > 88

Anthony Martial (Manchester United) 82 > 83

Heung Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur) 86 > 87

David Silva (Manchester City) 87 > 89

Nemanja Matic (Manchester United) 83 > 84

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) 79 > 81

Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)  83 > 84

Attackers:

Eden Hazard (Chelsea) 90 > 91

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) 89 > 91

Mo Salah (Liverpool) 83 > 85

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) 86 > 88

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)  82 > 84

Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)  83 > 84

Leroy Sane (Manchester City) 82 > 84

Alvaro Morata (Chelsea) 84 > 85

Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) 81 > 83

While we can argue until the cows come home that some of these upgrades aren’t merited (does Matic really deserve a boost?) it’s nice that the game gets a bit of love midway through the season. Salah, De Bruyne and De Gea have been real standouts this season in their positions so massively deserve their FIFA 18 FUT Ratings Refresh leg-up. Plus, there’s a bit more common sense with the positions. Marcus Rashford, for example, is now a LM instead of a ST – a position he arguably hasn’t really settled into during his fledgling career.

The Premier League is first up – but it’s not the last. EA has announced that a second wave of FIFA 18 FUT Ratings Refresh will come our way this Sunday. The developer has also revealed which players have received skill move and weak foot upgrades.
