Far Cry 5 and A Way Out Top PS4 Downloads for March, Fortnite Remains Most Played Free-to-Play Game

Far Cry 5 has managed to become the most downloaded PS4 game in March. These rankings, which are only based on the number of digital downloads alone, were revealed by Sony Interactive Entertainment America (SIEA) on PlayStation Blog. The most downloaded PS4 games chart for March is dominated by three new major releases from that month.

Far Cry 5 sits atop all the rest while the second and third place goes to MLB The Show 18 and A Way Out, respectively. The previous number one game, Monster Hunter World, has fallen down to ninth place after staying on top for two consecutive months since January. Grand Theft Auto V sits at fourth place, after five years of being released back in 2013. We recently reported that GTA V is now the most successful entertainment product in history.

Unsurprisingly, Fortnite Battle Royale remains the most popular free-to-play game on the PS4. Mainstays like Brawlhalla and Warframe managed to grab respectable positions at third and sixth place, respectively. As for the PS VR games category, new release Moss leads the charge with Job Simulator and PlayStation VR Worlds maintaining their second and third spot from last month.

Persona 4 Golden was the most downloaded PS Vita game for the month of March. The Monster Hunter theme and Legacy Dashboard theme inspired by the PS2’s iconic system menu remain favorites. Three of Rockstar Games’ classics grabbed the top three of the PS Classics chart, with many players still playing Bully, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and The Warriors after all these years.

In other news, Far Cry 5 has also managed to achieve other great feats, including becoming the fastest-selling Far Cry game in the UK and being the fastest-selling game in the entire franchise.
