Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Will Have 13-15 Hour Campaign

There’s been leak after leak for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and it honestly seems as though Square Enix can’t catch a break from it. On top of the box art being leaked yesterday, as well as the official trailer being leaked before the announcement today, there are some more leaks that have been found about the length of the campaign.

How long it takes to beat Shadow of the Tomb Raider was revealed by ResetEra member NeoRaider, courtesy of a Spanish magazine preview that had more new information about the game and what fans should expect from Lara in the newest game. In the magazine, Lara is described as being “obsessed” with Trinity and utterly ruthless, however,  her friend Jonah will advise her to do the right thing of sparing and saving people as best as she is able.

The campaign length is described in the magazine as “13-15 hours long” without playing side missions. This seems average for most Tomb Raider games, so we can’t complain about that. Side quests usually have something to do with the tombs that players are able to explore, which the magazine reveals feel different than before. In the tombs, the player must be aware of the constant dangers, often hidden within the puzzles inside.

Lara’s antagonist got their name dropped in the preview as well, an individual known as Doctor Dominguez. Not much is known about them, however, we do know that Lara will be in Cozumel, Mexico and so it isn’t too far-fetched to assume that she could meet the villain sooner or later.

It was also revealed that the ‘Classic Lara Croft’ that players have grown up with won’t be coming back in future games. Square Enix’s new take on Lara is one that they won’t be moving away from, and thus we should expect to see more of this Lara in future games. A decision that fans may not take too positively…
