Resident Evil 2 Leon vs Claire

Resident Evil 2 Leon vs Claire: Most popular character revealed

We got the answer to the Resident Evil 2 Leon vs Claire question (that nobody asked) from Capcom today. The company revealed that a majority of players chose Leon S. Kennedy over Claire Redfield for the first playthrough of the game.

Around 79 percent of players chose to help Leon through the worst first day at a new job ever instead of helping Claire babysit, according to the stats from the Resident Evil Twitter page. There doesn’t seem to be any specific reason behind the majority going for Leon’s story first, though one user said it was down to Leon starring in Resident Evil 4. It could also be that the majority of footage shown leading up to the game’s release was predominantly based on Leon’s story, including the 1-Shot Demo, perhaps swaying some first-time players to go with the evil they know. Or it could just be a case of Leon being the first option which saw the majority of players pick him for the first playthrough, it’s also the reason that sounds most likely.

You’ll want to make sure you have both characters’ stories wrapped up in a timely fashion, though, as Capcom announced that the game’s first DLC, titled The Ghost Survivors, offering a snapshot into the adventures of the game’s surrounding cast, will arrive on February 15. You’ve still got more than enough time to help out Leon and Claire before you crack on with the DLC.

Resident Evil 2 has got off to a flying start, having topped the charts this week, the game has already got fans asking for more Resident Evil, specifically a Resident Evil 3 remake. Capcom is open to the idea, and rumors even sprang up late last year that suggesting the game was already in development. Though there has been no confirmation of this, with Capcom only saying any possible remake would be down to fan demands.

Resident Evil 2 has proven pretty popular since launching, but Capcom has said that any plans for a Resident Evil 3 remake would be dependent on the demand from fans.
