The CD Projekt Red E3 2019 presentation has been described as the “most important E3” in the company’s history by CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski. Kicinski made the comments during the company’s annual investor conference. E3 2019 is set to reveal more about CD Projekt Red’s upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077.
The annual investor conference included information about current sales, marketing efforts, and future plans. CD Projekt Red seemed to confirm Lady Gaga would not be showing up at the event stating that, while they do have a surprise planned, an appearance from a pop artist is not planned. Lady Gaga was recently reported as having been present at the CD Projekt Red offices recording motion capture for Cyberpunk 2077.
CD Projekt Red’s critically acclaimed Witcher 3 was also said to still be selling well. Witcher 3 and its spin-off Thronebreaker have generated more than $28.6 million (net) in 2018. CD Projekt addressed its ongoing negotiations with the author of The Witcher series of books Adam Kicinski. The company stated the discussions between the parties continue but it can’t comment on their progress.
In addition to news on Cyberpunk 2077, a mobile version of card game Gwent has been revealed to be launching in fall 2019, launching first on iPhones with Android support coming later. The company also revealed that it has purchased a new office building in Warsaw, enabling the hiring of a further 250-300 employees. Regarding the company’s digital distribution platform, GOG generated less than $10,000 of net profit in the 2018 financial year.
CD Projekt Red confirmed last month Cyberpunk 2077 would be present at E3 2019, the company is still yet to reveal a release date for the game. It was also revealed in February that Cyberpunk 2077 would not include a beta phase to allow players to try the game and for the developers to find bugs ahead of launch.
