Tekken 7 Season 3 DLC

Tekken 7 Season 3 DLC revealed

After the Tekken 7 Grand Finals at EVO 2019, the next evolution of the popular Bandai Namco fighting game was shown. The Tekken 7 Season 3 DLC revealed that new fighters, both new and old to the series, would be making their way to the King of Iron Fist Tournament, as well as some new features and improvements.

The character making their return to the series is Zafina. First introduced in Tekken 6, and also featured in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the returning fighter seems to be corrupted by some otherworldly power via her hand. While her moves and moveset look like she can take complete control of the battle, the ending of her part of the trailer exemplified just how much control the corrupted power has taken from her.

Samurai Shodown Season Two DLC announced ahead of Season One’s launch

The second fighter, Leroy Smith, is an entirely new character to the Tekken series. Brought up in New York as a child, Smith was caught in-between a gang conflict where he lost his family and home. 50 years later, he has returned to the states and has learned some martial arts along the way. The trailer shows Smith taking out series regulars and martial arts masters Marshall Law and Lei Wulong, ending his portion of the trailer with a powerful 1-inch punch to Feng Wei.

According to the release schedule at the end of the trailer, Zafina will join the Tekken 7 roster September 2019; a specific date has yet to be revealed. Leroy Smith will release sometime in Winter 2019. On the aforementioned release schedule, it also looks like a new feature and character will join Smith, but they have yet to be revealed. Lastly, an unknown character and stage will come to Tekken 7 in Spring 2020.

There will also be free updates throughout Season 3 that will give every character new moves, as well as introduce a play stats display, update UI, and expand the game’s practice functionality.

Besides Zafina and Leroy Smith, the other two characters joining Tekken 7 are still a mystery. During EVO 2019, there was what seemed to be a tease for Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake to join the Tekken 7 roster. Unfortunately, it was just a “little joke” by the EVO organizers.
