Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted

Destiny 2 Sees Calus Return in Season of the Haunted Today

Destiny 2 saw a familiar face return today, May 24, with the arrival of Season of the Haunted. Once exiled, Calus has returned to the galaxy to seek a replacement for his derelict and corrupted ship Leviathan. The result is plenty of new content for both free and premium players, as well as a plethora of gameplay improvements and bug fixes.

Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted patch notes

As a replacement for Leviathan, Calus has his sights on the dormant Pyramid ship currently lying on the surface of the Moon. After connecting to it, Nightmares of the past are awakened and this is where Guardians come in to the equation. The new season brings along the following new content:

  • Nightmare Containment (free for all players) – Evil resonates within the hull of the emperor’s wretched vessel. Summon the challenging Nightmares and cleanse them with fire.
  • Sever – Navigate the Leviathan’s labyrinthine Underbelly, uncover the truth behind Calus’s sinister plan, and sever the Nightmares he controls.
  • Solar 3.0 (free for all players) – Solar becomes the latest subclass to receive a complete redesign empowered by the ultra-customizable Aspects and Fragments system. Light the flames of creativity, discover new builds, and prove that there’s never a bad time to fight fire with fire.
  • Trespasser Exotic Sidearm (free for all players) – Returning from the original Destiny, wield Shiro-4’s Exotic Sidearm and let lightning flash across the tarnished gold of the Leviathan’s twisted halls. Season Pass holders can unlock this weapon instantly.
  • New Season Pass, gear, mods, updated Solstice event, and more!

A full list of today’s activity changes and gameplay improvements can be found in the patch notes on the Bungie site. Later on this week on May 27, the first dungeon to be included in The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition will be launched. Those who don’t own the deluxe edition can get access to the dungeon by purchasing The Witch Queen Dungeon Key for 2,000 Silver. Details on the dungeon are yet to be revealed, although bungie promises a new Legendary armor set, Legendary weapons, and an Exotic weapon and catalyst.

In other news, Mixcrosoft is rumored to have turned down a timed-exclusivity deal for Star Wars: KOTOR – Remake on Xbox. Elsewhere, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s open beta is suposed to be coming to PS5 and PS4 first despite Microsoft’s recent proposed acquisition of Activision.
