Everyone is eager to jump into New World, the hot MMORPG from the team at Amazon Games. However, that popularity comes at a price any time the servers get overloaded. When that happens, you’re likely to find that the server queue is not moving, and you’re stuck waiting to login. How long are queue times New World, and is there any way to speed up the process?
New World server queue times: Why is the queue not moving?
The New World server queue times are entirely dependent on the server load. If the queue is not moving, it’s because there are too many users trying to connect. Queue times will be reduced as more servers are added, so you shouldn’t be waiting to login for very long.
At the time of writing, New World is still newly launched. The developers had an idea of how much server capacity they’d need, but it seems they fell a bit short. Server queue times are currently extended because the game can’t yet keep up with user demand.
Don’t worry, though: This shouldn’t be the case for long. The developers have already provided a launch day update where they’ve promised to add more servers to cut down on lengthy queue times. It will take a while before they’re up and running, but this shouldn’t be too big of a problem moving forward.
Of course, this isn’t a permanent solution. If the game picks up in popularity again, or if servers go down for any reason, queue times may be extended. Again, it’s all based on the number of attempted connections versus the number of available connections.
As a final warning, server outages or planned maintenance can also result in long queues or even error codes. For instance, the lag detected error could be caused by server instability. If you’ve already connected, you may even get surprise booted by the AFK timer. So before you go trying to fix your own machine, be sure to stop by the official New World server status page to make sure the problem isn’t server-side.
